Success Photography

I worked at Success Photography between 2008 and 2011 developing their in-house software, website, maintaining their servers and assisting with managing their IT needs.

Below are just a few of the projects that I worked on while at the company,

Studio 3

This was a piece of desktop software that was developed while I was working for Success Photography to manage their photography workflow from the moment the photograph is shot at an event until it arrives safely on the office servers.

The software had the ability to take orders, take payments, work out framing requirements, synchronise with a portable server and track orders across machines without a network connection using USB flash drives.

The software also received several upgrades including a self service till and self service for after the studio so the customers can choose their favourite images.

This software was designed to work in tandem with the in-office software and was written using Microsoft C# .net. I worked on this with Christopher Chan-Jones, a colleague at the time.

PhotoCraft

A small tool that I developed to help photoshop large batches of images automatically, written in C# and using the Photoshop APIs and Kodak software it would automatically retouch most of the images saving valuable time for the in-house editing staff, reducing the repetitive work.

Graduation Streaming

A few times of the year I worked with the Success Photography video team to broadcast graduations online. This was back in a time before broadcasting online was easy and 4G internet was available.

We managed to successfully broadcast graduations to hundreds of people, the most challenging was broadcasting from a church with no internet access by pairing multiple 3G modems together.

Website

I worked on Success Photography’s classic website, developing new features and improving the user experience.

This site has been replaced with a new site built on Laravel but I occasionally help out with their payment systems to this day.
